Water Work Media was created in 2011 by Sean Evans. Born and raised in San Diego. Sean purchased his first camera (Sony A65) to use as a training tool to become a pro bodyboarder. Begging everyone including friends and family to help record video of Sean surfing in exchange for video of themselves. Not long after, the wonder of how to use this camera properly and the tumble down the YouTube rabbit hole began. He found a new passion to master light and the new ways of digital photography.

Along the way, while working for smaller surf brands he eventually landed larger clients like the International Surfing Association in 2015, the Challenged Athletes Foundation in 2016, and even photographing surfings debut in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, being the only photographer allowed in the water during the final heats announcing women’s and men’s first surfing olympic gold medalist ever.

Since Sean has taken his skills further with commercial real estate, live camera operation, portraits, weddings, documentary, and conference work with clients like the Gerrity Group, Rain Bird, Action Sports Productions, HBO, Frank Ideas, Redbull, Ironman, Sony, Formula Drift, Aquatech, Scripps Research, USA Surfing, GoPro, Viper Swimfins, Matuse Wetsuits… You get the point.
